Built for Drivers Who Want Freedom
EvselfdriveNepal is a Kathmandu-based self-drive electric vehicle rental company — not a taxi or chauffeur service. We hand the keys to you, so you can explore Nepal on your own schedule.
We started EvselfdriveNepal because renting a car in Nepal meant either an unreliable roadside agency or a chauffeur-driven taxi with no real freedom to explore. We built a premium, self-drive alternative: a hand-picked fleet of electric vehicles, transparent pricing, and a team that answers the phone.
Every rental includes comprehensive insurance and roadside assistance, and our specialists plan your charging stops before you leave Kathmandu — whether you're driving to Pokhara for the weekend, Chitwan for a safari, or further into the hills.
A Message from the Founder

Bijaya Paudel
Founder, EV Self Drive Nepal
Travel has shaped my life.
As the Founder of Tourism Times Nepal and General Manager of Thousand Miles Travel and Tourism, I have spent years meeting travelers, exploring Nepal, and listening to countless travel stories. One thing became clear to me: the success of a journey often depends on something people overlook — the vehicle.
You can carefully plan your itinerary, book the perfect hotel, and dream about every destination. But if your vehicle breaks down, is poorly maintained, or causes unnecessary stress, those memories quickly turn into frustration. A single mechanical problem can waste an entire day, affect your budget, and take away the joy of traveling.
That realization inspired me to start EV Self Drive Nepal.
Our vision is simple: to rebuild trust in Nepal's self-drive rental industry.
We are not here to compete in a race to offer the cheapest price. A lower price means little if it comes at the cost of safety, reliability, or peace of mind. Instead, we choose to compete through quality, honesty, and service.
Every vehicle we provide is maintained with care because we believe a rental car is not just transportation — it becomes part of your journey. We want our customers to drive with confidence, not worry about unexpected problems.
Our goal is to create an experience that is hassle-free from the moment you book until the moment you return the vehicle. We believe trust is earned through consistent service, transparent communication, and vehicles that perform exactly as they should.
Whether you're exploring the streets of Kathmandu, driving to Pokhara, or discovering Nepal's hidden landscapes, we want your focus to be on the road ahead, the people beside you, and the memories you're creating — not on the condition of the vehicle.
This is more than a car rental business. It is our commitment to making travel in Nepal more reliable, more enjoyable, and more trustworthy.
Thank you for placing your trust in us. We look forward to being part of your journey.
“We don't measure success by the number of rentals we complete. We measure it by the trust we earn and the journeys we help create.”

What to Expect on the Road
Nepal's charging infrastructure has expanded rapidly — here's what every self-drive EV traveller should know before they set off.
Charging Infrastructure
Fast chargers are now available along all major Nepal highways — from the Prithvi Highway connecting Kathmandu to Pokhara, to the Mahendra Highway running south to Chitwan. Our team maps every charging stop for your exact route before you leave, so range anxiety isn't part of the journey.
Range & Road Conditions
Our EV fleet carries between 330 km and 500 km of real-world range. Nepal's mountain roads are steep in places, which affects range — but our vehicles also regenerate energy on descents, often recovering 20–30 km on long downhill stretches. We brief every renter on what to expect for their specific route.
Insurance & Support
All self-drive EV rentals include comprehensive vehicle insurance from day one. Our 24/7 roadside assistance line is one call away for the full duration of your rental — whether you're in Kathmandu valley or on the remote Kali Gandaki corridor.
Driving Permit Requirements
Any valid Nepali driving licence or International Driving Permit (IDP) covering light vehicles is all you need. Electric vehicles drive like any automatic — no clutch, no gear changes. First-time EV drivers are always welcome; our team walks you through the controls before you drive away.
Your Route. Your Pace. Your Nepal.
A self-drive electric vehicle rental gives you something no taxi or tour bus can — total freedom to explore Nepal exactly the way you imagined.
Nepal's most rewarding moments rarely happen on a schedule. A self-drive EV lets you stop at the roadside tea house in Nuwakot, detour to a hidden viewpoint above the Annapurna range, or linger at sunset in Bandipur without a driver waiting. That's the EvselfdriveNepal difference.
Compared to a standard petrol rental, self-drive electric vehicle hire in Nepal is quieter, smoother, and significantly cheaper to run per kilometre — electricity in Nepal costs a fraction of petrol. Over a week-long road trip to Pokhara or Chitwan, that saving is real.
And because our vehicles are maintained to a premium standard with no hidden kilometre caps, you can plan ambitious itineraries — Kathmandu to Mustang, or a full loop through Lumbini, Chitwan, and Pokhara — with complete confidence in the vehicle under you.
